Dr. Bassam Sayad is a Lebanese American board-certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is the current president of ACHE-MENA group. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of alkalma Holdings [alkalma Investments (Pvt. Ltd. - UAE) & alkalma Specialized Healthcare (KSA)]. alkalma is a joint venture between Burjeel Holdings (UAE) and Keralty (Latin America & USA) specialized in population health management and related health care delivery models, including population health risk stratification, social and community care, mental health, and advanced primary care. Dr. Sayad has over 25 years of experience in the United States and internationally, including managing investments across markets, growth and strategic planning, investment advisory, system assessment and governance, health care operations, population health management and value-based care.
Educated and trained in the Unites States, Dr. Sayad worked for over 20 years at the renowned American academic medical center Johns Hopkins Medicine. Prior to joining alkalma, Dr. Sayad was the founding Chief Executive Officer and Chief Ventures Officer of Elegancia Healthcare group based in Doha, Qatar. At Elegancia Healthcare, Dr. Sayad developed and executed the strategic plan for the newly established health care portfolio, developing affiliations with international partners such as Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angles, USA, Asan Hospital Foundation in Seoul, Korea, and a joint venture with a German operating partner. Dr. Sayad also led the regional growth strategy for the group with opportunities in Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia. In addition to his academic medicine and private investment expertise, Dr. Sayad oversaw collaboration initiatives with the public sector to develop public private partnerships, and to plan for population health and value-based healthcare.
Additionally, Dr. Sayad served as the first General Manager and member of the board of Clemenceau Medical Center in Dubai (CMC- Dubai). Prior to joining CMC – Dubai, Dr. Sayad was part of Dubai-based private equity TVM – Capital, as Chief Operating Officer and member of the executive committee of the board of its portfolio company Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center (CMRC). Dr. Sayad also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Al Noor Hospital, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and as Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration & Finance and Chief Operating Officer of New York University-Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Sayad has a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University, an executive MBA from Loyola University of Maryland, and Doctor of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

Dr. Mauricio Herrera is an obstetrician gynecologist with a specialty and fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Fetal Surgery and Therapy, Fetal Cardiology and Fetal Neurology. He is the Director of the Maternal Fetal Department at the Colsanitas Clinic – since 2001. Actually Dr. Herrera is the director of the International Center of Fetal Surgery and therapy is a referrer center for validated fetal surgeries and therapies, he is in charge of more than 120 cases of fetal therapies and surgeries each year with patients from different regions from Colombia and also from other countries in Latin America.
He is the creator of the Fetal Surgery and Therapy program in UAE, that was created in Burjeel Medical City – Burjeel Holdings, since 2023, doing the first spina bifida in Utero repair and more than 17 procedures of fetal surgery and therapy. Actually is the President of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Foundation. He dedicates all the time for the Maternal Fetal Medicine, Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal therapy and surgery.Dr. Herrera started his work in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Diagnosis in 2000, when he created the Maternal Fetal Unit in Colsanitas Clinic. He also began the first recognized fellowship program in maternal fetal medicine in Colombia at the University Of Rosary School Of Medicine.
He is presently the Director of the Fellowship Program in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Fetal Cardiology and Fetal Neurology in Sanitas University and Rosario University. As Director of fellowship program, he is responsible for research and education in the Maternal Fetal Unit and for all courses and online education offered by Sanitas University. Since 2006, Dr. Herrera had served as a member of the educational committee of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG). This responsibility involves his expertise in education in all countries in Latin America. He was member of the ISUOG Board from 2014 to 2019. He created the Fellows Program in fetal cardiology and neurology more than 1100 physicians have completed the training program. He is the creator and director of the advanced fetal medicine Internet network with an impact factor of 12.000 doctors registered around the world. His is leading and was the creator of the Latin American Center for Fetal Surgery and Therapy, actually he is doing more than 120 fetal surgery each year and that include 17 procedures validated as fetal surgery for myelomeningocele, surgery in TWINS, fetal tumors, fetal shunts, EXIT, fetal tracheal occlusion and more.
He is considered an opinion leader in the area of obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, fetal ultrasound, fetal malformation screening and fetal therapy. In addition to publishing numerous articles and abstracts, he is a featured speaker in many meetings, courses and medical Congresses around the world and internationally and travels over 105,000 miles worldwide annually as part of his commitment to promote education in the field of ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, prenatal biochemical screening, maternal fetal health and related technologies. Dra. Olga Gómez is a dedicated family medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience in primary care and population health management. Passionate about improving patient outcomes at individual and community levels, she has played a key role in designing and implementing preventive health initiatives and chronic disease management programs for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, complex chronic conditions, and palliative care.
Dra. Gómez has led health programs across Latin America—including Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Brazil—and in the United States. This diverse international experience has allowed her to understand and address the unique health challenges faced by different populations, tailoring healthcare solutions to meet local needs effectively.
In the field of population health management, Dra. Gómez has worked on large-scale initiatives focusing on preventive care, risk stratification, and community-based interventions. She has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to enhance care coordination, implement data-driven decision-making, and optimize healthcare delivery systems for better patient outcomes.
In addition to her clinical work, Dra. Gómez is also an accomplished academic passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She has been involved in university-level tracking, sharing her expertise and fostering a learning environment that encourages critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
Dra. Gómez has also contributed to medical research, leading various projects to advance knowledge in preventive medicine and chronic disease management.
